About Suzan
I have lived in Florida for over 18 years after growing up in Tennessee and spending my 20's in South Carolina. I am married and have two children, and two very spoiled cats. I enjoy spending time with my Florida and Tennessee family. I love planning epic vacations. For self-care I walk every day and drink coffee!
I received my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Barry University and have been a Licensed Mental Health Therapists since 2013.
How long have you been practicing?
I have been working as a therapist for 15 years (and counting).
What populations do you work with?
My "passion population" would be working with women through trauma, grief, anxiety, and major life transitions. With that said, I spent 14 years working in community mental health and I have experience working with a wide range of diagnoses. I feel confident meeting whatever a client brings into the room.
What should I expect from therapy with you?
My style is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I bring humor and humility into the work because healing often feels lighter when we don’t take ourselves too seriously. Together, we explore the patterns shaped by your experiences, we build practical tools for positive change, and cultivate clarity, self‑assurance, and meaningful self‑understanding.

Do you follow a particular therapeutic model?
I use a variety of approaches including Solution Focused, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and person-centered therapy.
"The most powerful thing therapy gives you isn’t advice—it’s the ability to trust yourself again."
